School concerts

Salmon and Dipper’s Wondrous Journey has a myriad of ways to tie into school curricula. From an artistic angle, we can discuss our various instruments, as well the musical history of Debussy amidst French Impressionism, and even the creative processes involved in producing a storymusic performance. From a scientific perspective, we can delve into the life cycle of salmon, and offer notes on the amazing bird in our story, the American Dipper. Both creatures are native to western Canada, and are vital participants in our nation’s ecology. There is also the option to bring one or more of our artists into the classroom a week before the performance, setting the stage for more in-depth learning. Let us know how we can contribute to a truly rich experience for your students!

Concerts en français

Nous sommes ravis de présenter deux de nos projets en français:
Le Voyage Merveilleux de Saumon et Dipper raconté en musique avec la Sonate de Debussy pour flûte, alto et harpe, et, Jour d’hiver du Wapiti agrémenté de la Petite Suite de Jolivet (même instrumentation que pour Debussy). Les deux textes sont traduits de l’anglais par Claude LaPalme, maestro de l’orchestre symphonique de Red Deer.
